Which Western plow fits your truck?
Match your truck, your snow, and your budget to the right WESTERN® plow. Every plow is installed by our team and confirmed against Western's approved fitment before you pay for it.
The right Western plow comes down to two things: what you drive and what you're clearing. Half-ton trucks handling a driveway or a few properties fit the HTS straight blade or the Enforcer V-plow. Three-quarter-ton and heavier trucks running commercial routes fit the MVP 3 or the Wide-Out XL. Our team confirms exact fitment before you buy.

Most people shop for too much plow
The best plow isn't the biggest one your budget allows. It's the one matched to your truck and your actual workload. That one sentence has saved our customers thousands of dollars in front-end repairs.
A one-ton commercial V-plow bolted to a half-ton pickup looks tough in the parking lot. Then it sags the nose, chews through ball joints, and costs more to keep running than it ever saved in plowing time. Bigger is not safer. Bigger that your truck can't carry is just expensive.
A plow that's too heavy for your truck wears out the front end long before it wears out the blade.
Across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, our Wisconsin Rapids shop mounted more HTS straight blades and Enforcer V-plows on half-ton trucks than any other setup. Those trucks come back in spring for a front-end check and almost never need work.
The most common problem we see isn't a broken plow. It's a homeowner who got sold a commercial rig two sizes past what their truck was rated to carry. The plow's fine. The truck is the one paying for it.
The four plows we put on trucks
This is the full lineup we stock and install across Central Wisconsin. Every price includes professional installation.
| Plow | Best truck | Best for | Blade type | Blade width | From (installed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HTS™ | Half-ton 4WD | Driveways, small lots, personal use | Straight blade | 7'6" | $6,924 |
| Enforcer® | Half-ton | Tight spaces, small commercial | V-plow | 7'6" (6'9" in V) | $7,603 |
| MVP 3® | 3/4-ton and up | Commercial routes, heavy snow | V-plow | 8'6" – 9'6" | $9,049 |
| Wide-Out® XL | 3/4-ton and up | Large lots, wide clearing | Adjustable wing | 8'6" – 11' | $10,939 |
Fleet and municipal pricing available on all four. Prices are starting points and vary by blade material and truck-side equipment.
A half-ton truck with the right straight blade clears a driveway faster than a one-ton rig that can't turn around in it.

Questions we get before you buy
What's the cheapest Western plow for a half-ton truck?
The HTS straight blade, from $6,924 with installation included. It's a full-size 7'6" blade built for half-ton 4WD trucks and it's the best value for driveways and small lots.
Will a commercial V-plow fit my half-ton truck?
The Enforcer is the V-plow built for half-tons. The larger MVP 3 is rated for 3/4-ton and heavier trucks. Bolting a heavy commercial V-plow to a half-ton usually falls outside Western's approved application, so we check your exact truck before quoting one.
Is installation included in the price?
Yes. Every price you see includes professional installation at the Wheelers location nearest you. A plow mounted wrong is a plow that fails in January, so we don't sell them any other way.
How long does plow installation take?
Most installs are done in a day. A first-time mount on a truck that has never carried a plow takes a little longer because the truck-side hardware and wiring go on first. We'll give you a real timeline when we confirm your fit.
Straight blade or V-plow, which one do I need?
A straight blade like the HTS is simpler and cheaper, and it's plenty for driveways and open lots. A V-plow like the Enforcer or MVP 3 opens into a V to cut through drifts, folds into a scoop to carry more snow, and handles tight commercial spaces better.
Which plow clears the widest path?
The Wide-Out XL. Its wings adjust from 8'6" up to 11' in straight-blade mode, the widest Western makes for trucks. On a big lot, that width turns a four-pass job into three.
Can I plow my own driveway with a half-ton truck?
Yes. A half-ton 4WD with the HTS or Enforcer handles a home driveway easily. You do not need a commercial truck to keep your own place clear.
Do you offer fleet or municipal pricing?
We do, on all four plows. If you're outfitting multiple trucks or buying for a township or municipality, tell our team the count and we'll price it as a fleet.
What's the difference between the MVP 3 and the Wide-Out XL?
Both are commercial plows for 3/4-ton and larger trucks. The MVP 3 is a V-plow, best for cutting drifts and working tight corners. The Wide-Out XL is an adjustable wing plow, best for clearing the widest possible path on open lots and routes.
How do I know a plow won't damage my truck?
Two ways. We size the plow to your truck's class, and we only mount setups inside Western's published approved applications, which follow Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. A plow matched to your truck rides where the engineers intended.
What trucks are approved for a Western plow?
Western publishes an approved application for each year, make, and model. Our team checks yours against it. If your truck isn't listed, it doesn't have an approved snow-plow application, and we'll tell you rather than sell you something unsafe.
Do you sell salt spreaders and ice control too?
Yes. If you're already running a plow, adding a tailgate or hopper spreader is a common next step. Ask our team and we'll match one to your truck and your route.
Which locations install plows?
All six: Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Medford, Merrill, Abbotsford, and Coloma. Pick whichever is closest and that's where your install and service happen.
What if my results feel wrong for my situation?
The quiz gets you close, not perfect. Every job has quirks the three questions can't catch. Hit "Confirm fit with our team" on your result and a real person will walk through your truck and your route with you.
