Your total is the plow plus installation. The plow price depends on the model, a light half-ton straight blade like the HTS costs less than a commercial V-plow like the MVP 3. Installation at any of our six locations is a flat $1,000, mount and wiring included. So your out-the-door cost is the plow's price plus that $1,000. Check the product pages for current plow pricing, or call 715-387-1200 and we'll total it for your exact truck.
Nobody likes a "it depends" answer on price, so let's be as straight as we can. A plow purchase has two line items: the plow and the install. We can tell you the install number right now, flat and the same at every location. The plow number depends on which model fits your truck and your work. The honest total is plow price plus $1,000 installed. Here's how each part shakes out.
The two parts of the price
That's the whole formula. There's no mystery labor charge that balloons at the counter. The install is fixed, so the only variable you're shopping is the plow itself.
The flat $1,000 install
We charge a flat $1,000 to install any WESTERN® plow we sell, at all six locations. That covers the mount kit bolted to your frame and the wiring harness matched to your truck, the two truck-specific pieces every plow needs. A straight blade and a V-plow install for the same price. It doesn't change based on your truck brand either, a Ford, Ram, Chevy, or GMC all install for the flat rate. You know that number before you walk in.
What drives plow price
The plow is where the range lives, and it comes down to capability. A light-duty straight blade built for a half-ton is the entry point. Step up to a V-plow and you're paying for the V and scoop modes and the mechanism behind them, usually about $1,000 more than a comparable straight blade. Commercial models like the Wide-Out XL, with its adjustable wings for big lots, sit at the top. More capability, more money. The trick is buying the capability you'll actually use, not the biggest plow on the wall.
| Plow type | Who it's for | Relative price |
|---|---|---|
| HTS straight blade | Homeowners, open driveways | Entry |
| Enforcer V-plow | Drifts, tight spaces, half-tons | ~$1,000 over HTS |
| MVP 3 V-plow | Commercial, heavier trucks | Higher |
| Wide-Out XL | Big lots, wide clearing | Top of range |
The question we get is "what's it going to run me out the door." Our answer: whatever the plow costs plus a thousand for install, and we'll show you the plow price before anything else. No games. Most homeowners land on the HTS or Enforcer, so we point them there first and let them decide if the V-plow is worth the step up for their driveway.
A realistic example
Say you drive a half-ton and want a straight blade for an open driveway. Your cost is the HTS price plus $1,000 installed, and you drive away with it mounted and wired. Want the Enforcer V-plow instead for drifts? Figure roughly $1,000 more on the plow, plus the same $1,000 install. We'll give you the exact plow figure for your truck when you call or stop in, but the structure never changes: plow price, plus a flat grand to put it on.
Where the value is
The best way to spend smart isn't to chase the cheapest plow, it's to match the plow to your driveway so you don't overpay for capability or underbuy and fight your setup all winter. A straight blade on an open driveway is money well spent. A V-plow where you actually battle drifts pays itself back in time saved. Either way, buying local means the install, the parts, and the service are all right here when you need them, which is its own kind of value at 5 a.m. in January.
